During the 2023-24 campaign, Everton and Nottingham Forest faced deductions in points for breaching the 'Profitability and Sustainability Regulations.' This penalty stemmed from a single infraction. I recall that during the disciplinary hearing, the Premier League argued for a 12-point deduction for Everton due to this solitary violation. As far as I can recall, they were ultimately docked 6 points; Nottingham Forest, also penalized for a single offense, lost 4 points. In contrast, the current situation involves repeated infractions spanning over eight to nine consecutive seasons.
